THE STAIN

Recently, I re-noticed a dark stain on my kitchen granite counter top. I had noticed it last year, but did not do anything about it. Putting it out of my sight and mind, I put my Aerogarden on top of it.

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago. In my always changing things around mode I moved the garden and well, there it was again, in my face. This time I decided to try and remove it.

Off to Home Depot I went to purchase what I hope will be a product to pull the unknown stain from the granite. Immediately I put a layer of the product on and waited the required 24 hours for it to dry. Scraping it off I hoped to see an improvement, but the directions say it will appear still dark until it is dry.

Needless to say I am on round two. It is lighter but still needs work. Patience is the key here. Honestly I am not a very patient person.

As I was scraping off round two the Lord spoke to my heart. Our hearts can have deeply imbedded stains. These stains can be ones we forget are there, as we just keep them pushed down, until they resurface and are in our face once again.

These are anger, bad habits, complacency, envy and unforgiveness to name just a few. Only God can remove these deeply imbedded stains. We first need to acknowledge they exist by asking the Holy Spirit to reveal them to us. And yes it is painful. But if we keep saturating ourselves with the word of God and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in us, slowly these can be pulled up and fade away. Will they come back? Sometimes, if we are not careful and stray away from our time with the Lord.

Hang in there! Keep working at it with Him!

I am still going to be working on this stain for a few more rounds. Each time I work on it I will remember God is also working on my stains, and with time I will be made new.

Blessing to all!
